  • 1 heap

    coffee
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom (optional)
  • A pinch of ground cinnamon or nutmeg (optional)
  • Sugar to taste (optional)
  • Special tool: a cezve (Turkish coffee pot)

πŸ”₯ Instructions:

  1. Measure water
Pour 1 cup of cold water into the cezve.
  2. Add coffee and spices
Add 1 heaping teaspoon of Turkish coffee to the water.
Add the cardamom and any additional spices you like (such as cinnamon or nutmeg).
If desired, add sugar (no stirring yet).
  3. Mix well
Stir the mixture gently until the coffee, spices, and sugar (if added) are fully dissolved.
  4. Heat slowly
Place the cezve over low heat.
Do not stir again. Let it heat gently so the foam builds up slowly.
  5. Watch for the foam
Just before the coffee begins to boil and the foam rises, remove it from the heat.
  6. Serve carefully
Pour the coffee slowly into a small cup, keeping the foam on top.
  7. Let the grounds settle
Wait a minute before sipping to allow the grounds to settle at the bottom.

πŸ’‘Tip:

For a richer aroma, grind your spices fresh before brewing.
